Audience measurement & privacy
We measure public website activity to understand which articles and podcasts are useful. Measurement starts when this feature is launched; no historical counts are reconstructed.
Our first-party system stores a random browser-tab session identifier, a public content identifier, an activity type, and a timestamp. It does not store your account identity, IP address, email, search terms, private portal activity, message text, or referring URL in the analytics database. Hosting providers may separately maintain operational logs.
A session identifier resets on a new day or a new browser-tab session. Counts represent approximate sessions, not identified people. Multiple tabs, blocked scripts, bots, and opt-outs affect totals. We retain activity records for up to 90 days; the owner can view aggregate reports.
A playback start is counted once per episode per tab session. An engaged listen requires at least 30 seconds of measured playback. Near-complete means measured playback reaches 90% of the track duration. Seeking alone does not count as listening. Direct MP3 sharing, downloads, and playback outside this website are not measured by this system.
We honor the browser Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals. You can also turn off measurement on this browser below.
